Someone “in the church” said they were taught you couldn’t see Jesus while still alive on this earth.
Who is teaching this falsehood?
You don’t see dead people. Those are restless ghosts who have no peace. What is written on nearly every tombstone in graveyards? Rest In Peace. They have none.
Jesus, the prince of peace, who gave us peace isn’t roaming the earth as a ghost. He is alive! To prove such, folk that were alive and well in earth saw him back then, and there are many accounts of folk alive and well today who have seen him; myself included.
First of all, it is written He prophesied he would be raised from the dead.
Matthew 17:9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
When his Father, [our Father] raised Jesus from the dead. [Mark 16:9 ] early the first day of the week, he (Jesus) appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
Matthew 28:5-7,9 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
You can’t hold onto a ghost!
John 21:1-3,5-7,9-13 [1] After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself . There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. [Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him , (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
When have you ever seen a dead man cooking?
Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord. Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
John 21:14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.1 Corinthians 15:3-8 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
Now, who told you-you can’t see Jesus, (while you are still alive)?
The real question is, Will you recognize him when you do?
